so i had a good day today!
I went to return some blank video tapes that were obviously used. The guy at the store said no refunds but I let out 1 1/2 years of writing about corporations exploiting the little guy.
I told him that I would not leave until i got my money back. He said that he had the policy of NO RETURNS on his store, but I told him I DON'T SEE A POLICY ABOUT SELLING USED PRODUCTS FOR NEW ones
We must have argued for like 20 minutes and he opened one of my tapes and played it...and ofcourse this tape seemed to be ok, but not the one i that i taped on. That one was terrible cuz the image looked scrambled and i could hear voices in the background.
So we ended in the back of the store hehe and i told him in my "A Few Good Men" movie tone of voice "I am not living the store until i get my money back and you're gonna close and I'm gonna be in here with you and the polic3 is going to come and then I will get my money back!" And he said well call the polic3, but i knew that he was scared hehe
So in the end we agreed on him charging me a 20% return fee, BUT I made him pay full for the my tape box that he opened
I felt like i was in one of those movies like A Few Good Men and even my voice sounded like T0m Cruis3's
Oh man at moments me and the owner of the store realized how silly our discussion was, because all he had to do was to give me my money back so that i would leave
It was so amusing really, I had never been in a debate like this. It felt like a debate. Like a case of one standing against some evil corporation hehe
And guess what, the little guy finally won.
In other news i went to take some sort of filing paper regarding my job hours so that i would get paid. I got a ride with this nice lady who works with me. And it was like we were listening to oldies and talking about all sorts of things. I learned the meaning of the song "what's going on" today....she said that it was inspired from the vietnam war. I told her that i remembered it from one of my favorite movies "Jerry Maguire," but now that I listened to it for what it is. Is just such a nice song that people all over the world should remember.
So we came back to my software selling school workplace thing and they let me off early cuz it was so hot and there was no air conditioner in there.
Over all i feel good today...I got even done with most of the things that i set out to do and maybe the world isn't so bad...although this varies from time to time...
So if you get in an argument, get into character and do the "Few Good Men" thing ^^
