I was looking for some hosting places today and I went through a vast amount and I found basically nothing. In the end I was left with one that Ryusan recommended and with another one that seemed very reliable but somewhat expensive. I am searching for a yearly plan, because I don't like the idea of having a monthly debt. So what I'll do for now is save my money and get a yearly plan on a later date. Perhaps I will spend a little to reserve a name. But I have no idea what name I want, and the few that I liked were taken. Another approach would be to spend some of that money in some form of entertainment or for educational purposes.
